Another Harrowing Sight

Updated: Nov 27, 2023

This picture is particularly harrowing, as its clear these are the bodies of children, killed in the raging war in Israel.

God said, "...for I am the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation... (Deut. 5:8).

The atrocities of war weigh heavy on anyone that cannot comprehend the heinous actions of other human beings. The only comfort that can be drawn this, is that it is all predicted. Jesus said, "You will hear of wars and rumours of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth-pains." (Matthew 24:6).

To those who say, how could God let this happen? It is not God who lets these atrocities happen, but men. God said, "You shall not murder/kill." (Deut. 5:17). He went on to say, "Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home. It could not be clearer.

As the years go by, the ways of the world will worsen. Jesus said to his disciples, "Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved." He added, "For then there will be great distress, unequalled from the beginning of the world until not - and never to be equalled again."

I pray for all who are in need of God's help. I pray that I will not be alive when Jesus returns to earth.
