Life Got In The Way!

I cannot believe it's been over three years since my last blog. Life got in the way!

It is a pitiful excuse and I only have myself to blame. Whilst my faith certainly didn't falter; my effort truly did. Well now, I'm happy to say, I'm back.

We are all so busy...doing what? A lot of social media, that's for sure. Some have become obsessed with it. Do you know that 60% of the world's population spends 2 hours and 24 minutes per day, on social media?*. That's a lot of hours. Have you noticed how fast time goes by, when you're texting, on Instagram, Facebook, X, etc.? The reason, I believe, is because we enjoy doing it. I mean, if you really don't like your job; waiting for the end of the working day seems like an eternity, right?

Before you know it another year has gone by. We've just stepped into Autumn and then we'll be celebrating another Christmas. Great! It's my favourite time of year.

You've heard the statement, "Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today." This is a very important statement, especially when it concerns our life. I.e. if we don't take heed of Jesus's teachings, it may well be too late. Don't put off learning about Christianity and the Tree of Life until tomorrow, because tomorrow may never come. Procrastinating is easy because we tell ourselves, 'Yeah, I'll do it tomorrow.' Well, what if tomorrow never comes? We will have missed our opportunity, to understand and learn, about the gift of eternal life. Not on this earth as we know it but on the promise from God, through Jesus Christ.

Every second is precious and we all, sometimes unknowingly, take advantage of it. Our expectation is off the scale because we automatically think, we'll be here tomorrow, next week, next month, next year. This only becomes real when we lose someone close or we hear of someone's friend/family member or celebrity that suddenly dies. This week, in the news, I read about an athlete aged 26 who suddenly died. Poof! Gone.

Now, you may have read this blog and ended up feeling sad. The intention is not to make you feel sad but to wake you up to the reality that is life. You risk a life of eternity that Jesus promised. This life on earth is a test, to see if we are worthy of eternal life. Don't let it pass you by without knowing Jesus. I will leave you with His comforting words:

“Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life." (John 5:24)

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die." (John 11:25)

"Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell." (Matthew 10:28)

"I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for, ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades." (Revelation 1:18)
