W For War!

War is a global problem affecting millions of people. However, a person does not have to be physically present for it to affect them. It is, but for the grace of God if you are not physically affected.

People say, 'Why does God let these things happen?' It is not God who starts or ends a war, but man. I imagine God looking down, shaking his head. What a world we live in! What a mess man has made since his time on earth. War is part of everyday life - the poor people in war-torn countries; the media reports, however skewed by propaganda. People can choose to ignore it because it does not affect them. They may say they do not watch it because it's all so negative. Yes, I agree it's very negative, but the reality is it's happening and will one day affect us all. So I say, be prepared then it does not become such a shock when it ventures our way.

There are, of course, religious wars too. Let's face it a lot of wars involve religion. Some are fought with bullets and bombs whilst indoctrining the gullable to join their fight. Good will never win over this kind of evil, not whilst they win over governments through fear and retribution.

Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ said, "...You will hear of wars and rumours of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen but the end is still to come." He said, " Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth-pains." (Matthew 24:6).

Jesus also warns against hypocrisy saying, "The teachers of the law and Pharisees sit in Moses' seat. So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practise what they preach." (Matthew 23:2) I think we can all relate this to governments and the laws of today.

I will leave you with this - love one another; do good, cleanse your hearts through Jesus who will certainly help you through trying times, if you truly believe. I can honestly vouch for him. Trust in the Lord. Let him in.

Until next time, God bless!
